The Issue

Image
This summer the huge problems of race caught the eye of all Americans. While the problems have been around for forever, the BLM protests presented how big the issues were.  Ever since the protests, people have come forward and been very open about the realness of the issues they face in their everyday lives. They experience prejudices at work, school, and local events. Many people believed that the prejudices went away after the civil rights movements in the 60's, but they have never gone away! In the movements, like Black Lives Matter, it has been important for people to have the voices to speak up, but it is also important for their to be people who just listen!  The only way we will get through this difficult time is if we all work together and listen to each other!  I hate to see such a divided nation and can not wait for the day when we are all grateful and can feel equal to our neighbors!

Ok

Ok That was my word for the beginning of my junior year of high school.  It is still my word for 2021! 2020 brought every bad idea to surface and tried to make it a terrible year; key word being tried . Even though I faced a lot of issues in 2020, I do not regret going through any of it. Quarantine, while it was not what I wanted to be doing, it forced me to strengthen relationships with my family and showed me who my true friends were. I knew it was going to be a very different year and I needed to just go along with the changes, so I said ok. I learned fighting back was not going to solve anything. You need to go into a quarantine that may or may not last 5 months-ok You need to wear a mask every where you go- ok You need stay 6-feet apart- ok So yeah even though it was very different, I guess 2020 was ok! I hoped the new year would bring in some changes too. 2021, while it has only been 5 days, has already started off in a negative way though. I was put into a quarantine o...

Mi Viaje a España Con Los Gitanos

Image

The Past

The past is a valuable time, we need to remember it. We can either run from the past, or learn from it. Experiences from the past are the best lessons to learn from. The mistakes we made can easily become the thing we later succeed in. I am not saying it is good to live in the past, we need to move on. The past will continue to repeat itself if we do not learn from our mistakes and change it. This also makes the future less of a mystery. Our past has prepared us for the future and we will know how to handle any situation we are put in. There are many instances where you can get seriously hurt. Instead of remembering what hurt, remember what it taught you. This will make you a better person.

The Changes

Education has changed me. It changes everyone.   It all began in a small white church right outside my neighborhood. My school journey started and my first look at a formal education began. This education consisted of which M&M's were red and blue and how many there were. I used books to learn what sound a cow makes. The world was still a place of wonder and imagination! I was waking up early every morning hoping it was one of the few days a week I would get to go to this place and learn all the new things.   It now takes place in a big brick building, about 20 minutes from my house, and a half mile walk up from my parking spot. This education consists of summer reading, due dates, and actual studying. I use textbooks to see what a paramecium looks like. I wake up every morning seeing if there is snow on the ground, hoping for a possible snow day, in April.   My education has changed every aspect of my life. It has changed where I go everyday. It has c...
